Agency workers and their equivocal roles – wandering employees?

Agency workers (AWs) were originally employed on a substitutional and short-term contract basis, but recently they are found to be long-term purpose in Nigeria. Although agency labour helps solve recruitment challenges, it correspondingly erodes employment relations causes conflicts across employers, trade unions workers. As such, the current research aimed examine rise of AWs analyse its influence union’s representation. The samples 36 respondents (management, unions) recruited from three oil multinational companies Nigeria interviewed. Research data analysed through thematic analysis NVivo, revealing important findings. First, often asked take posts which used taken by permanent staff, without right join union. Second, did not welcome concerned implication staff. Third, reluctant as their might renewed. findings brought new insights into literature Managers reminded that suffering issues identified above. Any management strategies will reach maximum effect unless these rectified.
